How we clean
Wood is not concrete
Blast a deck like a driveway and you’ll scar the grain, raise splinters, and void composite warranties. We wash decks at a fraction of driveway pressure, fan the jet with the grain, and let brightener — not force — restore the color.
Composite needs care too
Capped composite scratches and streaks under high pressure. Our method keeps pressure under manufacturer limits while still lifting pollen film, grease from grills, and the mildew that hides in the texture.
Ready for stain or seal
Planning to stain? Our wash doubles as prep: we open the grain evenly so stain absorbs uniformly, then tell you exactly when moisture levels will be ready for coating.

Good to know
Deck questions, answered
Not with our method. Damage comes from high pressure held too close — we stay well under wood-safe limits, keep the fan moving with the grain, and rely on brightener chemistry for color instead of force.
Absolutely — composite is one of our most common jobs. We follow manufacturer pressure limits to avoid streaking the cap layer, and our detergents pull mildew out of the board texture without scrubbing.
Yes — slipperiness is almost always a biofilm of algae and mildew, and removing it restores grip immediately. For permanently shaded decks we recommend yearly cleaning to keep it safe.
Usually 48–72 hours of dry weather. Our brightener balances the wood’s pH so stain bonds evenly, and we’ll check moisture and give you the green light before your stainer arrives.
